Dentures and Partials

When you think of dentures, you may think of boxy-looking false teeth in a glass next to grandma’s bed from when you were a kid. Erase that image from your mind! Today’s dentures are much more esthetically pleasing and look very much like natural teeth when created by a skilled dentist, erasing the stigma that often comes with them.

Tooth loss due to periodontal disease, bone loss, or trauma can impact every aspect of your life, from smiling and speaking to eating the types of foods that will keep you healthy. At Scott Family Dentistry, Dr. Jessie Scott provides our patients with attractive, comfortable dentures that dramatically improve your quality of life.

Benefits of Dentures

Dentures complete your smile and your chewing surface. While you may still have some food restrictions with dentures, they will allow you to chew a wide variety of foods and smile confidently. Dr. Scott will recommend partial or complete dentures based on your unique needs. We offer a selection of denture options to meet your lifestyle.

Dentures also help support your facial features in much the same way as your natural teeth. Without them, your lips and teeth may have a sunken appearance, making you look older than you actually are.

Partial Dentures

When you have multiple missing teeth but still have some of your natural teeth, we may be able to use those natural teeth to anchor a partial denture. We design the denture teeth to match your natural teeth so that your smile appears uniform and seamless.

Partial dentures come in a wide variety of materials, from flexible acrylic to hard acrylic and even metal. Dr. Scott will help you decide which will work best for you.

Denture teeth look like natural teeth and are secured to the base of your partial. Your partial “locks-in” to your natural teeth, giving it added stability.

Since your natural teeth secure your partial denture, caring for your natural teeth properly is essential! Regular dental exams, cleanings, and good home care is the best way to protect your remaining teeth.

Bring your partial denture to your dental exams so Dr. Scott can check the fit and look for any damage. That way, we can keep you looking and feeling your best!

Full (Complete) Dentures

When you have lost all of your teeth or are facing extractions in the future, full dentures can be an economic and reliable way to replace your teeth. A great fit is essential to the comfort and function of your denture.

Dr. Scott is experienced at creating full dentures that are both attractive and comfortable for our patients. You can discuss your goals with her so that your final denture is something that makes you proud of your smile.
