Painless Dental Injections

Millions of Americans have a fear of the dentist, and we know part of that anxiety comes from facing potential injections when you have dental procedures. Contrary to what you might believe, dentists hate hurting patients and are constantly looking for new ways to make treatment better and more comfortable.

At Scott Family Dentistry, patient comfort is one of our top priorities! Since we care for each of our patients like family, making your experience a positive one is important to us. We also want to help you get the care you need to stay healthy. Removing some of the anxiety around dental injections allows us to provide you with the care you need to stay healthy – without stress!

What Makes Injections Hurt?

Having a shot can be painful! Did you know that most of the pain from an injection comes from the anesthetic entering your tissue? If injections happen too quickly, they can sting! That feeling alone makes many people want to avoid dental work altogether.

Giving a painless shot is an art, and Dr. Scott took this concept one step further by implementing computer-aided anesthetic to deliver painless injections for our patients. That way, nothing stands between you and the dental work you need to protect the health and beauty of your smile.

How Computer-Aided Anesthesia Works

We start any dental injection by using a topical numbing agent that numbs the area before we put a needle anywhere near it! This automatically reduces pain and makes your experience much more comfortable.

Next, we use our computerized anesthetic device to deliver the precise amount of anesthetic required to give you the most comfortable treatment. This device automatically senses pressure and delivers small amounts of anesthetic so that we can avoid that painful sting that is common with shots.

Temperature is important, too! Our injection systems makes sure that the anesthetic we use is the right temperature to provide maximum comfort during delivery. It makes a big difference when dealing with sensitive tissues inside your mouth!

By numbing the area first using a topical anesthetic, delivering your anesthetic at a slow and steady pace, and keeping it at the right temperature, we can give pain-free dental injections – something that makes us feel truly great because we want you to feel comfortable.

Other Benefits of Computer-Aided Anesthetic

Whether you have one tooth that requires work or you need a lot of treatment in one area, we can adjust our computerized anesthetic to cover the appropriate area. That way, we can reduce residual numbness that lasts for hours beyond treatment and help you feel normal again quickly.
